Seoul - My Last Day

We once again went to Dongdaemun area...but we went out not early as usual since it's been raining the day before. We went to Fabric Mall again and I've bought another material for skirt.

We have our lunch at Doota. We ordered a Korean Food this time....Seafood Rice Cake. The Seafood Rice Cake consist of seafood, the rice cake with the sauce, ramen and eggs. It's not so delicious...but taste okey. Then we tried a piece of cake at Lente Cafe. It was delicious.

Blueberry Cheese Cake

Then we went to two shopping centre next to Doota...where most of the store inside the complex were selling ready clothes and accessories.

We went to Lotte Duty Free again and browsing t
hru their store...but couldn't find anything that interest us...so we just headed back to hotel by walking slowly and stop at the War Memorial's statue.

War Memorial

That night...we just stayed in our room and packed our things. I came to Seoul with one (1) bag and went back with also one (1) bag but 10 kg more heavier.

Next Day....in the plane and ready to went back home.

Seoul - Namsan Cable Car & Namsan Tower

This was the last night for Malia, Ayin & Aunty Ruby cause they were going back to Malaysia the next morning. Since Malia insisted on the cable car ride...so, me (who affraid of cable car) and Ayin accompanied her for the ride.

After purchasing the ticket and queuing to the cable car.
(The ticket was W7,000 equal RM21.00 for return)

Awaiting for the cable car ride to the tower & Malia already with her new leather bag.
(you could see the tower from the cable car area)

(Love the umbrella...very sweet)

Seoul - Deoksugung Palace

This Deoksugung Palace was located near the Seoul City Hall and nearby Myeongdong area which was in the city center. The entrance fee just W1,000 for each person. You have to walk from the main entrance to the palace. My mother was exhausted, she just sat at the bench under a tree in front of the palace as we explored the area.

Seoul - Dongdaemun Area

Dongdaemun was the best area at Seoul for shopping. There were Fabric Mall, Handbag Mall, Ready Clothes Mall, Shopping Departmental Store, Market and many more.

The mall that I loved the most was the Fabric Mall and the Handbag Mall. If anyone interested to visit Seoul...please stay at Dongdaemun area.

Seoul - First Day in Nandaemun

Seoul was raining the whole day since we arrived. But the rain haven't stop us to explore Nandaemun area. Once we checked-in...we started our exploration. So...many accessories were sold at Nandaemun area with good quality and beautiful design. There were so many design of cotton nightgown was sold at this area also which was so sweet and I've bought one that cost me RM90.

There were also beautiful leather handbag at this area...however, the price was much differ with Dongdaemun area. For handbags....Dongdaemun is the right place to visit.

The good practice that all departmental store applied at Seoul that they prepared umbrella's covered during raining seasons so their store won't be wet and slippery due to the water residue from the umbrella.

Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince

Last Saturday, me and Man when for a movie at Alamanda, Putrajaya. We have our dinner at Bayou and watched Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince.

Both of us ordered the Slow Roasted Lamb Rack...which was our favorite. The lamb was so juicy and tender....but the service was quite slow. We arrived at the restaurant at approximately 8.00pm and the dinner were served at around 8.55pm. We have to wait for almost one hours.

The movie was so funny....and the whole cinema was laughing including me...:) Until the water scene....everything change...luckily I'm not pregnant! Really shocking! And the saddest part was when Dumbledore was killed by Snape. I'm always confuse with Snape's character.

As I expected, when we when back home...he started to play all the Harry Potter's DVD from Part 1 continuously until Part 5. He's the trueHarry Potter's fan compared to me...I'm just an ordinary person who enjoy watching movie.

Trip To Seoul, Korea

I don't know how to categorized my trip to Seoul, Korea as enjoyable or not. There were list of things that made the trip very enjoyable....but there also the less enjoyable side of the story.

Upon departure from KLIA and arrival at Incheon Airport

The thing is the trip was not a well prepared trip....it more a spontaneous one. We made up our mind just in a blink. The next day...three ticket was paid and confirmed for me, my mother and my younger sister-in-law, Malia one week before the departure date. We were following my brother-in-law's wife, Ayin and her entourage to Seoul since they were familiar with Seoul.

Only the poster of Lee Min Ho for Dunkin Donuts

Our flight was on 8 July 2009 at 11.30 p.m. and arrived at Incheon International Airport, Seoul at around 7.00 a.m. the next day. We all were so excited if we could encounter with Korean actor... as for me the Boys Over Flower, Lee Min Ho.

Got some photo taken with Korean actor....hehehehe...actually only with their paper replica scattered around Seoul as they signed endorsement with various product.

The most preferred place in Seoul was Dongdaemun. I loved Dongdaemun....and I wish I stay at Dongdaemun area...with so many shops, markets, mall and shopping complex along that stretch. You could find fabrics (cotton, polyester, silks, etc.), beaded laces, ribbons (love the ribbons), wholesales markets that open from 12.00 a.m. til 12.00 p.m, high rise shopping complex fill with shoes, handbags, accessories, food court & cafe', scarf shops, many ready made blouse with good materials and very good sales persons (means of very good...they entertain you and friendly).

Partly of things that catch my eye

I've stayed at Nandaemun area which was famous for their accessories market. Their accessories was really really really nice and good in quality and I like everything that I see. However, the sales person in Nandaemun was not so friendly as Dongdaemun. We stayed at a budget hotel in this area...which was very cheap and clean but not so comfortable. The other thing that was cheap at this area was the bedsheets and duvet cover set. The lacy type with embroidery. Very very nice and Aunty Ruby (Ayin's mom) bought one set of the lacy and embroidery bedsheets complete with duvet cover and bedskirt. Another thing that I can't resist the cotton night gown...very very cute and sweet.

I hate the expensive taxi fare. Since we love going to Dongdaemun, we were commuting from Nandaemun to Dongdaemun almost every day and the taxi fare killing us plus the massive traffic jam.

Eating in Seoul quite challenging for Muslim, I only manage to find two Burger King, a small KFC and nada McDonald's. We have their sticky rice for dinner with sambal ikan bilis, serunding and telur masin...which I think was the most tasty food ever in Seoul. Because of not much choice of food, we had sushi at Lotte Shopping Mall which was expensive and on my last day, we had the rice cake with ramen and seafood (our first Korean food), the rating was just okey...not more than that...plain okey.

There were several Free Duty Shop in Seoul. June til July was the sales season...even Duty Free Shop was on sales but everything was expensive...very expensive...better buy in Malaysia. But still bought shirt from ZARA for myself and Man.

Deoksugung Palace

In front of the Museum of Art

We also went for sightseeing on our third day in Seoul after our second visit to Dongdaemun. We went to the Deoksugung Palace and Museum of Art. Then at night we went to Namsan Cable Car and took the ride to Namsan Tower. I'm not so fond of cable car...I haven't even step a foot on any cable car in Malaysia.

Namsan Park, Cable Car & Namsan Tower

Overall the trip was okey and quite enjoyable....beside the times 3 for the currency. :) It was quite an experience for a trip to a country that converse mainly in their native language without a tour guide.

Birthday

Yesterday was Man's birthday. I bought an ice-cream cake from Baskin' Robbin Alamanda and picked the Jamoca Almond Fudge flavour which was the only available flavour in that size.

The Jamoca Almond Fudge Ice-Cream Cake

Since Kak Min's birthday falls on the 8th of July a day after Man's, we celebrate it together and Faiz actually was baking a cake for Kak Min in the kitchen when I came back from Alamanda... I'm a busy and lazy wife....just buy the cake:)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, MAN...KAK MIN & JOJO!!!

* Next time I would buy the handpacked and place the candle on top since everybody love the top layer of the ice-cream not the bottom layer of the cake.
