We have an appointment with the paediatrician, Dr. Foo at Pantai Medical Centre Bangsar to check on level of jaundice on the 7th day. Since I'm already in Ipoh, we went to Hospital Pantai Ipoh instead and meet Dr. Cheong.
Adran was admitted due to the level of jaundice (13.5) and I was so sad to see my baby not comfortable with the photo-therapy treatment which function to lower down the jaundice level. After 1 night admitted, we were released by Dr. Cheong since the jaundice level had drop to 11.1.
However, after the third week, there were still sign of jaundice and I became worried with his condition. We even brought home the photo-therapy light to lower down the jaundice. After two days, we went to BP Lab to check for the jaundice level, but Dr. Jasmine from BP Lab advised us to have the blood test to check on Prolonged Neonatal Jaundice which leads to liver disease.
Alhamdulillah, the result shown that the Prolonged Neonatal Jaundice most probably cause by breast feeding and the urine test shown negative to infection.
Further blood test done at Hospital Pantai Ipoh shown further reduction of jaundice.
* Not advisable to carry out any test at BP Lab because of their poor service.
